1 cup buttermilk
1 cup cornmeal
½ cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp paprika
½ tsp garlic powder
Vegetable oil (for frying)
For the Creamy Grits:
1 cup stone-ground grits
4 cups water or chicken broth
