Melissa held my hand as we walked inside.
“You nervous?” I asked.
“A little,” she admitted.

She smoothed the skirt of her dress proudly.
A few parents smiled when they noticed it.

“Oh my God,” she said to the other parents nearby. “Did you actually make that dress?”
