She leaned forward in surprise—luxury cars never came to this part of town.
The sound grew louder until a sleek black SUV appeared around the corner, its polished surface shining like something from another world.
Emily’s heart skipped nervously. She had never seen a vehicle like that stop near her home. The SUV slowed to a halt in front of her weathered house, and her hands trembled as she placed her teacup down.
Questions rushed through her mind. Who could it be? Was something wrong? Had something happened?
The driver’s door opened, and a tall man in a suit stepped out. He quickly moved to open the back doors.
Emily held her breath as four young women stepped out, dressed elegantly, their eyes searching the small house in front of them.
For a moment, Emily didn’t recognize them. They looked so different now—so grown, so confident.
Then suddenly, her heart understood what her eyes were still struggling to believe.
It was them.
The four orphan girls she had once fed and raised.

Tears blurred her vision as she whispered, “It can’t be… could it really be them?”
The young women turned toward her with bright smiles. Before Emily could even react, they were already running toward the porch. The old wooden steps creaked beneath their hurried footsteps, while Emily remained standing there, stunned and unable to believe what she was seeing.
