My husband refused to do a DNA test for our daughter’s school project – so I did it behind his back, and the results prompted me to call the police.

I was about to call the police.

I was standing in my kitchen, phone glued to my ear, listening to a woman from the police department.

“Madam, if your signature was forged for medical procedures, this is a criminal offense. Which clinic handled your IVF?”

I gave him all the details.

I was about to call the police.

“I have never signed up for another donor,” I replied. “Never.”

“Then you did the right thing by calling,” she replied. “I’ll call the clinic.”

I took a screenshot of the call log and results, then I put down my phone.

Greg was due back in 20 minutes, and I was tired of pretending not to know what had happened.
