Kelvin stood calmly, hands in pockets, observing.
Linda emerged from the dressing room wearing a sparkling gown. “How do I look?”
“Expensive,” Kelvin replied.
She wasted happily. “I know!”
Another dress. Another shoe. Another handbag.
The sales attendants were sweating.
At one point, one whispered to another, “Is she opening a branch?”
Kelvin heard. He almost laughed.
When the bill arrived, it looked like a short novel.
Linda leaned gently on her arm. “You don’t mind, right?”
Kelvin smiled. “Of course not.”
Inside, his brain was calculating like a quiet calculator.
Outside the boutique, Linda suddenly froze, her eyes locked on a white luxury Range Rover parked across the road.
