He nodded.
“Your mother’s name?”
“Sarah.”
He answered, voice cracking.
“Sarah Naji.”
Sarah let out a cry—not of pain, not of fear, but of something too deep for words. The sound of a soul awakening.
“I am Sarah Naji.”
Agu stepped closer.
She reached for his face with trembling hands.
“Let me touch you. Let me see if you’re real.”
Her fingers brushed his cheek.
“A scar,” she whispered. “You had a scar on your chin when you fell from the table.”
Agu’s eyes filled with tears.
“I still have it.”
She burst into tears.
“My son. My Agu. Is it you? Is it truly you?”
Agu could not speak.
His voice broke.
He dropped to his knees again and wrapped his arms around her.
“Mama. I found you.”
