He swallowed.
“I saw a miracle.”
My chest broke open.
“If I can be even half the parent she was… my daughter is going to be just fine.”
For a moment—nothing.
Then one person stood.
Then another.
And another.
Until the entire auditorium was on its feet.
Applauding.
Crying.
The same people who had laughed couldn’t even look up.
After the ceremony, everything blurred.
Teachers hugged him.
Parents avoided my eyes.
One woman—maybe the same one who whispered—walked past us quickly, head down.
