“Erm, Sir, I’ll come with you. I want to see for myself. » He said.

Mr Adeyemi concurred, and so they left with Daniel’s car.

When they zoomed off sight, Sonia’s face flinched from anger to fear.

Mrs Judith was quick to notice it because her attention was still at her since the outburst.

« Sonia, what is it? Are you okay?”

Sonia bent low, casting her stare on the ground. « Ye… yes ma… I’m fine. »

Mrs Judith was too weak to ask further questions, so she just kept mute and they began to head inside the house.

Sonia’s heart was troubled. One could tell from her countenance. And because she didn’t want Mrs Judith to suspect anything, she quickly went to her room, leaving only Mrs Judith in the parlour.(ON THE ROAD)

While Daniel and the mortician were still on their way to the mortuary, Mr Adeyemi unexpectedly cleared his throat, breaking the long silence.

“Your name is Daniel, right? » He asked.

“Yes. Any problem? » Daniel answered, focused on the steering.

Adeyemi took a few seconds before he responded.

“There’s a confession I want to make, sir. » He said. “But for our safety, can you please stop the car first? »

That last statement aroused Daniel’s curiosity.

His gaze moved from the road to Mr Adeyemi, and then back to the road.

Slowly, he parked at a corner of the road and turned off his engine.
